The post was getting way too long, close to 2500 words. I tried to trim some steps while still preserving the info. This is one of my hardest yet. Yes you can add the Instant3D button to the shortcut bar. When you right click on the Shortcut bar and select Customize, go to the Features category and drag the Instant3D button directly onto your Shortcut bar.

What I missed was your creation of 3 arcs. 3-pt definitely for the top arc. end arcs could be centerpoint. I just went too fast and (as an educator) I know that you can NEVER write enough steps out. Thanks for the tutorial. Now, can you add the Instant 3D icon to the shortcut toolbar?

No real reason. It's just the Arc tool I tend to use most often. It's calls back to my old AutoCAD days.
