Okay, I know some of you are expecting the next model for the stapler. To be honest, I needed a day off. So I took a page from Josh’s book and decided to do a summary post for all of my new subscribers. If you are new there are a few good tips you may have missed. Today, I will introduce you to some of my favorite post.

What Happened to my Scroll Bars?

With the release of SolidWorks 2008, the scroll bars in the graphics area were conspicuously missing. Don’t fret, there are extremely easy to turn them back on.

How do I Get Rid of That Darn Drawing Background?

This has got to be the most popular post ever on The SolidWorks Geek. For some reason, SolidWorks adding a simple graphic on the drawing sheet really struck a nerve with the SolidWorks Community. Relax… You can remove the image or even add your own, or download one of mine.

What is a Shortcut Bar?

My favorite new function in SolidWorks definitely has to be the Shortcut bar. I use the shortcut bar everyday…all day. It is awesome because I am always visiting other user’s systems and I know that I will always find the tool I am looking for, no matter how the toolbars are configured.

How Do I change the Way my Parts Look?

It was funny, the week right after I wrote this post I received an email from a co-worker about how to change the colors in an assembly. All I had to do was cut and paste directly into my email…I saved sooo much time.

What is the Proper Way to Title a Drawing?

If there is one article I have written that I would prefer that all of my readers read, it would be on titling your drawing per ASME standards. This is one area of the drawing that gets overlooked by many and yet causes so many issues.

How do I Link Dimensions, Adding Equations and Using Variables?

Linking dimensions, using equations and variables is a huge time saver that is extremely easy to use. Not only does it speed up the design process but they are huge time savers when making revisions. Do feel intimated, it is a lot easier then it sounds.

How do I Hide and Show Extension and Dimension Lines?

The first time I need to hide an extension line in SolidWorks 2008, I had to pause. It took me a few minutes to figure it out and i want to save you that time.
