Imagine sitting down with Richard Branson and being able to ask him any question you want. Richard Branson is a self made billionaire who founded Virgin as a teen in London selling records from his car. 37 Years later, Sir Richard Charles Nicolas Branson is worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $4.4 billion as reported by Forbes Magazine and is involved in many ventures including Virgin Atlantic Airways, Virgin Galactic, Virgin Fuels and Virgin Healthcare. What would one ask a modern day renaissance man such as Richard Branson?

Unfortunately, most of us will never get a chance to have a sit down conversation with Richard Branson but Jeff Ray, CEO of SolidWorks, will do what we all wish we could do. In February 2009, Jeff Ray will be having an on stage discussion at SolidWorks World in Orlando Florida. Instead of the same old canned questions that are usually asked in these events, Jeff Ray is opening up the floor to you. On December 29th, Jeff Ray announced the opportunity, on the SolidWorks Blog, for anybody to submit a question to be answered by Richard Branson.

While the questions is being posed by Jeff Ray, your name and company will be acknowledged and also display on the huge screen behind the pair on stage. Your name will be one the mind of an actual knight, Richard Branson… how cool will that be?

What kind of question would you ask of one of the best known entrepreneurs in the world? Of course, this on-stage conversation will not be one of the hard hitting interviews one might see on CNN, MSNBC or FOX News. Nor will it be a purely fluff interview that you might see on Entertainment Tonight. Instead, it is a chance to get a glimpse into the genius of a self-made billionaire. With his many ventures and charity work, there is a plethora of fields to cover when asking your question. If you are interested in CAD, as I am, you might ask about the impact of industrial design in ventures such as Virgin Galactic. If you are effected by the current economic downturn, you can ask him about how Virgin Money would be beneficial for the average family. Of course, if you are a budding entrepreneur like myself, you can ask his opinion on how a start-up can survive in today’s climate. As you can imagine, there are hundreds of questions that one can ask Richard Branson and still be within his scope of knowledge.
