Quick Tip #1 – Dimension to Tangents

Often times in Sketches and Drawings, it is more important to specify the distance to the outside of an arc or circle then the center.

To dimension to the tangent of an arc in a sketch or drawing, first make sure you are in the Smart Dimension tool. Then hold the Shift key on your keyboard and select the the outside of the arc. The dimension is then placed in it’s appropriate location.1-10-2009-7-58-50-pm
