Not Going Down Without a Fight
As many of my longtime readers know, I was privileged enough to have the opportunity to write a SolidWorks book. After months of sleepless nights working hard on my first book, SolidWorks 2010: No Experience Required was released for sale in March of 2010. Unfortunately, despite my hard work, my book generated as much attention as a mime in an empty dark room. Due to the lack of sales, I will not be doing a revised version of the book for SolidWorks 2011. No finger pointing is necessary, I was well aware of some of the shortcomings with the book but I had hoped that I would have an opportunity to address them in the next version. Despite its issues, I still feel the SolidWorks 2010: No Experience Required is a good starting point for a majority of new SolidWorks users. Unfortunately, it seems that no one knows about the book and those who stumble upon the title in Amazon are quickly turned off by the lack of ratings and comments.
Like the title of this post says, I am not going down without a fight. I would like to at least try to get a little more attention to the title before it becomes irrelevant when SolidWorks 2011 is released. Every day, I have at least a 600 readers visit The SolidWorks Geek and I know that there has got to be at least 2 or 3 of those visitors have read my book. I rarely beg but I am on my knees to my loyal readers and friends that have read my book… please rate and comment on my book on Amazon and other online retailers. But be honest. If you like the book and found it helpful, it would be great for potential readers to hear about your experiences but if you found the book horrible…comment as well. I just want to give the book a good chance to make an impact while it still has time.
Thank you all in advance-
Alex
