Standards Wednesday on Hiatus

Posted on October 5th, 2008 in Misc, Standards by The SW Geek

When I started The SolidWorks Geek six months ago, I wanted to share the benefit of my experience with SolidWorks and ASME with the rest of the engineering community. I started Standards Tuesday, later Standards Wednesday, to introduce readers to drawing specifications that control our daily engineering lives. I never expected the response to the concept and I was surprised about the following it has gained. I am proud to say that Standards Wednesday has introduced some readers to ASME and has hopefully improved the quality and consistency of their drawings. It’s because of this that I make this announcement with profound sadness… Standards Wednesday is going on hiatus.

Chat with the Geek

Posted on August 24th, 2008 in Misc by admin

Who Wants to Chat? Earlier this week, I was able to help out a user when he caught me on Gtalk and afterwards I thought I should do it more often. It was so nice to be able to give quick answers and get a quick response. I felt he walked away from the conversation with a lot more information then he would have gotten through the comments or even email. So, as an experiment, I added a chat client to the SolidWorks Site; http://www.theswgeek.com/chat-with-the-geek/ .

I will see how the chat room goes for a couple of weeks. If I find it’s more trouble then it’s worth, I will take it down. When you get a chance swing by and say “hi”. I would love to get to know more of my readers.

An Announcement

Posted on July 18th, 2008 in Misc by The SW Geek

Hey Kids! I know…I know… It’s been way too long since I posted anything and believe me, I feel bad about it. Too many projects and not enough time in the day but it will get better. I have decided to make a change to the scheduling of my post to free up some time and still provide great SolidWorks information for my readers. Starting next week some things are going to change.
